Paul Pogba will not sign for Juventus because I beat him at basketball, jokes Massimiliano Allegri
Massimiliano Allegri has joked that Paul Pogba will not sign for Juventus - because he is afraid of losing at basketball to the Italian coach.
Pogba’s Manchester United contract expires at the end of June and the Bianconeri are hotly-tipped to bring him back to Turin having sold him to Old Trafford for £89million in 2016.
In his first spell at the club, the player and coach won two Serie A titles together. However, Allegri revealed one potential reason why the Frenchman may be hesitant to return.
“He will not come back because he is afraid to challenge me at basketball,” remarked Allegri in an interview with Dazn.
“First he lost with his feet, then with his hands, then he went away. This is the real reason why he left and he hardly ever comes back.”
Along with Pogba, Juventus are strongly linked with signing Angel Di Maria this summer once his deal up at Paris Saint-Germain.
Allegri teased both players’ arrival when adding that he is expecting “two players from outside” the club to sign this summer.
