Paul Pogba faces FOUR YEAR ban as 'B sample' confirms positive testosterone doping test for Juventus star

Paul Pogba's tumultuous career has hit a new low after it was reported that the former Manchester United star had tested positive for testosterone doping - and he could face FOUR years out of the game.

Heralded as one of the finest young players in the world upon his first move to Juventus back in 2012 from United, the Red Devils paid for their mistake of releasing him when they broke the world transfer record to bring him back to Old Trafford in 2016, paying the Bianconeri £89million for his signature in what was billed as the signing of the summer. But it never quite took off for the midfield star upon his return to the north west.

Despite flashes of brilliance, consistency loomed over his entire spell and with just one Europa League title and a League Cup to his name, 20 appearances in his final season saw him rejoin Juventus in 2022 - again on a free. And life has been tougher than ever in Turin. Over the course of 15 months, Pogba has made just 12 appearances for the club, labelling him as one of football's forgotten sons - and now he could well be out of the game for good, after reports claimed that he had failed a doping test after coming up positive for testosterone substances.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stated: "Paul Pogba has tested testosterone doping positive also to backup sample today. Juventus will now decide how to proceed with his contract as Pogba faces risk of long-term ban."

Testosterone was found in Pogba's system after their opening day win over fellow Serie A side Udinese, despite being an unused sub in the win over the eastern Italian outfit. He tested positive after being held back after the game by doping chiefs, and the sample he gave in the three days following the clash has also come back
