Part of the A470 closed after serious crash - live updates

Emergency services were at the scene of an accident on the A470 near Pentrebach on Monday. It is thought the crash happened at around 11.15am.

South Wales Police control room had warned that officers are at the scene and the road was closed southbound between Pentrebach and Abercynon.

The statement said: "It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible."

The road re-opened just after 1pm, with some residual congestion reported.Live updates below:
