Paris 2024: Irish in action on Day 6 of the Paralympics

After Deaton Registe finished in sixth in yesterday's 100m breaststroke final, it's another busy morning in the pool on Day 6.

Silver medallist Róisín Ní Riaín will hope to add to her medal haul after progressing directly to the final of Tuesday evening's S13 200m individual medley.

After finishing fourth in her first final in the butterfly, the two-time world champion bounced back to put Ireland on the medal table with her second placed finish in the 100m backstroke last Friday.

Tokyo gold medallist Ellen Keane enters her final event in her fifth and final Paralympics this morning, as she goes in heat 2 of the S9 100m backstroke. The Dubliner finished fourth in the S8 100m breaststroke last Friday, the event in which she claimed gold in Japan.

It promises to be an emotional day for Keane, who retires after this Paralympics, and will hope to go out on a high by making this afternoon's final.

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Barry McClements gets underway in his second Paralympics, as he takes the to the pool in the S9 100m backstroke.

The 22-year old swimmer from Newtownards placed seventh in the event in Tokyo, two years later becoming the first swimmer from NI to medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

After the disappointment of her sixth place finish in the S6 50m freestyle, Tokyo silver medallist Nicole Turner is back in action in the 50m butterfly, where she is joined in the same heat by Limavady teenager Dearbhaile Brady.

On the track, medal hopeful Orla Comerford begins her tilt in the S13 100m in what is her third Paralympic Games. The Raheny Shamrocks sprinter was a whisker away from a medal at last year's Para Athletics World Championships, finishing fourth in a photo finish.
