Paramedics treat casualty after car overturns in motorway crash involving lorry

Paramedics treated a casualty at the scene on the M6 near Wigan this afternoon after a car overturned, fire services have confirmed.

Emergency services were scrambled to the M6 southbound between junctions 25 and 26 Orrell Interchange at around 4pm this afternoon after reports of a car overturned in a collision. The incident involved a lorry and a car, and one person was treated at the scene, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said in a statement.

Drivers faced severe delays and congestion following the collision as recovery teams worked to clear the carriageway. All lanes are now reopened.
