'Overspills' - Ian Evatt responds to Bolton Wanderers booing in Forest Green Rovers loss

Ian Evatt admits he understood frustrations Bolton Wanderers supporters had with his side's perfomance in the loss to Forest Green Rovers and the half-time booing they received though he drew the line at when it overspills.

Wanderers slipped to their second loss in the space of five days over the weekend when they suffered a 1-0 loss to the Green Devils at the New Lawn. Connor Wickham's first half strike proved to be crucial.

Despite several chances for the likes of Dion Charles, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Kieran Saldier after the break, the Whites were unable to draw level and slipped to defeat. Wanderers remain in the top six despite the loss.

The Whites were bood off at the break by the travelling supporters at the New Lawn. Evatt has responded to the booing and though he took slight offence to when it overspills, he had no issues with Wanderers being booed at the break as he felt they deserved it.

But he understood the frustrations the travelling support had with Bolton's first half showing as he hailed their backing and admitted he wanted to boo with them after his team's performance in the opening 45 minutes. He believes his side must respond when they take on Barnsley next weekend back at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Evatt said: “I understand their frustrations, but some of it for me when it overspills and it becomes personal and abusive, I take offence to that. We all did and we deserved to be booed off at half-time, I have no qualms with that because the way I felt, I wanted to boo with them.
