Overhyped Celtic stars shown up by rank rotten Rangers and Ibrox side are 5 signings off being title contenders - Hotline

Old Firm honours even. A point apiece. Everybody friends? Not a chance as the point scoring on the Hotline only cranked up a gear after the final whistle blew on the 1-1 draw at Ibrox.

We’ll begin with a balanced view though. Well, kind of. Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “I thought a draw was a fair result. Rangers were the better team in the first half, Celtic definitely the better team in the second.

"No doubt it showed that the game had no bearing on the season but after all the debate about showing Celtic a guard of honour I thought it was a nice touch to play ‘Simply the Best’ as the champions came out.”

Steve McSherry, Uddingston, said: “Another poor result for Celtic against arguably the poorest Rangers side in their 13 year existence. We can thump Aberdeen and Dundee Utd but once again don’t turn up against a worse side.”

Peter Cooperwhite is an optimistic bluenose. He emailed: “With good investment hopefully coming in and the right manager to use the funds we can hopefully push Celtic even harder next season.

"Several players for Celtic are overhyped and I agree with Kris Boyd - five or six good players in and we will be definite contenders.”

But Sam Morton, Edinburgh, said: “After the Old Firm draw that’s no wins in five home games and four wins in 12 overall for Ferguson. Surely now even his biggest cheerleaders won’t be championing his cause for the job on a permanent basis.”

A dead rubber it may have been but with millions of customers worldwide it was always going to be the broadcasters’ choice. Not that Kevin Lord, Drylaw, was impressed.

He said: "End of season dross from here on in with the old firm on TV whole Hibs are on fire and Aberdeen have it all to play for on two fronts.”

And referee Nick
