'Outstanding' Bajrami blows Albania boss away, Souttar red flag spotted and how McCausland fared - Rangers news bulletin
'Outstanding' Nedim Bajrami was hailed for his performance against Ukraine - with his international boss praising his 'all-round game'.
The Rangers midfielder was one of the stars of the show in Albania's surprise 2-1 win over Ukraine in Prague, as they came from behind to pick up a huge Nations League three points. Bajrami, a £3.4m signing from Sassuolo late in the window, was in fine form, and there are hopes he could take that into a debut away to Dundee United this weekend. Albania's Brazilian boss Sylvinho was thoroughly impressed with the Ibrox signing.
He said: "I thought the performance from Nedim Bajrami against Ukraine was outstanding. He is clearly a big talent. We were very satisfied with Bajrami's performance, he can play in many roles for us. I have noticed that his all-round game has improved. He can do a lot with the ball. He helped us produce a really excellent result against a huge nation like Ukraine. We continue to improve and I think that was one of our best results in recent years."
Ross McCausland meanwhile earned his third cap for Northern Ireland against Bulgaria. He was thrown on as a late sub with Michael O'Neill's team chasing a 1-0 deficit and couldn't inspire a fightback. He did pick out Dan Ballard with a cross which the Sunderland defender headed over on an ultimately disappointing night for his country.
