'Our home has been shot at twice, and there are condoms everywhere'

Residents living on a street plagued with drug dealing, anti-social behaviour and 'intimidation' are speaking out in the hope that police will take action.

Those who live on Pershore Road in Birmingham say living next to a HMO has only made issues worse, with residents claiming a gunman - armed with an 'unlicensed' air rifle - opened fire on a nearby home. Sam Watson claims he heard a 'crack' in his window before he spotted a man holding a rifle inside the supported housing.

Birmingham Live reports that the 36-year-old, who lives nearby, said: "There's lots of people with substance misuse issues, alcoholism, and the associated crime that comes with that. I think they don't care, they just think they'll take a few shots at the neighbours. I think our windows are the only breakable things they can see."

Neighbours are in a residents' WhatsApp group and "all say the same thing" about the trouble blighting the area, claims Sam. "Outside our house, there's constant drug dealing, it feels it's got a lot worse in the last year or so," he claims.

"But it's just constantly people out there, then there's drug dealers. There's an alley between our road and the next, they also hang around in our road, they come round in their cars, do loops round the alley and things. We also have hedges next to our property being used as a drop for drugs.

"You get all the litter and used condoms and things that they leave behind for whatever reason. They'll be sitting on the wall and you know they have a rifle if you annoy them, you don't want to disturb them.
