Osun appoints new management teams for football teams

The Osun State government has approved the reconstitution of the management teams for both Osun United FC and Osun Babes FC.

The state government also appointed football coaches for both football clubs.

In a statement from the Deputy Governor’s office, who is also the Commissioner for Sports and Special Needs, Kola Adewusi, signed by his Press Secretary, Goke Awoyemi, the move is to further enhance viability of the clubs, driving them for optimal performance and to compete effectively with their counterparts not only in Nigeria but globally.

According to the statement, the composition for Osun Football FC is as follows: Akin Maxwell (Chairman); Abimbola Rufus (Community Relation Manager); Femi Okenla (Marketing & Communication); Kabiru Adekunle (Team Manager) and Oyewole Opeyemi (Secretary).

For Osun Babes FC, Tola Usman was appointed the Chairperson; Wole Animasahun (Team Manager) and Ronke Ogunbanwo (Secretary).

Other appointments include Seye Ajayi (Chief Coach); Sina Afolabi (Assistant Coach I); Waheed Olapade (Assistant Coach II); Lateef Yusuf (Goalkeeper Coach); Seyi Akanni (Medical Officer) and Akeem Adebayo Megba (Welfare Officer).

According to Awoyemi, all interim committees of Osun Babes and its Osun United counterpart are hereby dissolved with immediate effect and are to be replaced by the newly constituted management teams.
