Over 100 participants set for inaugural Rotary Sports Festival
Over 100 participants are expected to participate in the inaugural District 9110 Rotary Sports Festival (ROSFEST), billed to hold from November 2023 to March 9, 2024 at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos Island.
According to ROSFEST organisers, the event is aimed at discovering talents for the country and also unite members of Rotary 9110 District, with participants contesting for honours in football, basketball, table tennis, scrabble, draught, badminton, tug of war, ayo and golf.
At the media unveiling of the festival, Rotary District 9110 Chairman, Alozie Nsirimobi, said designated venues and draws for the competition would be revealed next month.
“The Rotary Sports and Fellowship Committee is a Kosheleri team put together by our ingenious District Governor, Rotarian Rita Ifeyinwa Ejezie, to help Rotarians keep fit and live a healthy life”.
“The objectives of the Rotary Sports Festival is to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of Rotarians, extend Rotary membership to non-Rotarians, create awareness of the Rotary brands and also build a District 9110 sports team for future events.
“The pre-qualification games will start from November as the awards, while the final will hold at the Onikan Stadium on March 8 and 9, 2024,” he said”.
