Manchester City have uncovered another Academy gem, witnessed the rise of a new attacking star and seen one youngster solidify his squad status - but their summer Stateside sojourn has left two players facing questions.

The Blues have one more friendly to play in America, against opening Premier League opponents Chelsea this weekend, and have yet to taste victory from their three games so far. But Pep Guardiola won’t be too concerned by that given the youthful squad and absence of a host of star names.

Yet he will still be seeking a victory over Enzo Maresca’s men in Ohio to end on a high and land a psychological blow ahead of opening day. It’s been a tour of discovery for City with some winners and losers over the past two weeks. We take a look.

Oscar Bobb

The standout player by a distance thus far. The Norwegian has contributed one goal and three assists and earned the praise of his manager.

Mainly stationed on the right, the winger has been an attacking outlet across all three matches with his trickery and directness. He’s capable of playing in a number of positions and after breaking into contention last season looks set for a more extended role this time around.

Rico Lewis

It was in America two years ago that Lewis first came to the fore and this time around he’s reminded everyone of his capabilities.

The only man to have played every minute so far, even if none of them have been in his preferred midfield position. He’s versatile and is beginning to look every inch a top level Premier League player. It remains to be seen where he’ll end up
