Oscar Bobb makes Ilkay Gundogan point about Man City win vs Brentford
The words didn't really do it justice but there was immense satisfaction on the face of Oscar Bobb as he talked about what a good scoreline 1-0 was against Brentford.
Manchester City were frustrated and frustrating for large spells of the game, unable to break down a deep and dogged defence from the visitors that limited the quality of chances they were able to create. The performance had manager Pep Guardiola on edge and there was some anxiety in the crowd, but Haaland's second-half effort meant that City picked up another three points that extends their unbeaten run and takes them to within a point of Liverpool at the top of the table.

Bobb was delighted to get another start under his belt in what has been a breakthrough season at senior level, and was also part of a happy dressing room. It is a squad that has more experience than anyone else in the league of winning titles, and Bobb referenced Ilkay Gundogan's heroics in the 3-2 comeback over Aston Villa on the final day of the 2021/22 season that kept Liverpool at bay to show that the Brentford win could prove crucial.
"If you look back two years ago and we won by one point when Gundo scored [against Aston Villa]? I mean, when you look at it like that, every point could be a title-deciding point. These wins are good," he said.
