Opinion: Upcoming trilogy could decide Celtic's fate this season

Celtic are going to have a busy schedule of big games over the next two months as the Bhoys aim to win a domestic treble. After the match against Ross County on Saturday, the Hoops are off for the international break, and then the schedule will really start to get hectic.

The biggest games that the Bhoys will play are the upcoming trilogy against Rangers. The first fixture is the league game at Ibrox on the 3rd of April, the second the Scottish Cup semi-final which will be played on the weekend of the 16 and 17th of April, and the third game – which will be played at Celtic Park – will be the first or second game after the league splits into two, either at the end of April of the start of May.

At the moment it is really all about one game at a time, with the game against Ross County the most important for the Hoops.

But it is not hard to look ahead to the upcoming games against Rangers, as they will be vital to Celtic’s prospects of winning the both the league title and the Scottish Cup.

If the Hoops can come away from Ibrox with a win or a draw, then the team would be well placed to win the league title. A win in the Scottish Cup semi-final would see the Bhoys in a fifth Scottish Cup final in six years, and the side would be favourites to defeat either Hibernian or Hearts in the final.

Another positive result in the last league game against Rangers would surely see the Hoops all but clinching the league title.

It is going to be difficult to go unbeaten over the three Glasgow derbies, but if Celtic can continue to keep up the current level of performance that they have shown over the last few months, then the Bhoys are capable of getting the positive results.
