Opinion: Nine points would put Celtic on the road to glory

Celtic’s next three games will have a huge impact on determining if the Bhoys win the Scottish Premiership title. The Hoops at the moment have a three point lead at the top of the table, but the next three games will have a bit impact on Celtic’s prospects on winning the league.

The three games are: away to Livingston, at home to Ross County and away to Rangers. If Celtic can get nine points from those games the Hoops would be well on the road to winning the league title, as the Bhoys would still be clear of Rangers in the title race, due to the current three point lead.

Getting the nine points won’t be easy, and Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will be well-aware of that. Celtic have failed to defeat Livingston so far this season, Ross County are in a good run of form and the Glasgow derby at Ibrox is never easy for the Hoops.

But if Celtic are to win the league, it will be all about winning the difficult games. A win at the Tony Macaroni Stadium would be a real statement from Ange Postecoglou’s side, as many people are no doubt expecting the Hoops to drop points.

A win would give Celtic a lot of confidence for the rest of the season when it comes to the title race, and it would prove a point to those that doubt that the Hoops can go on to win the league title.

In the middle of the three league games there is a Scottish Cup tie to navigate, when the Bhoys head to Tannadice to take on Dundee United. It will be interesting to see how Celtic approach that game, you imagine that it will be a strong side that is selected by the Hoops boss, as a win will take the Bhoys into the last four of the tournament.
