Celtic: £10m star 'very keen' on Hoops transfer

Cameron Carter-Vickers is keen on joining Celtic permanently this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The centre-back is currently on a season-long loan from Tottenham but has been heavily linked with a £10m move to the Glasgow giants.

Over the last five years, the USA defender has spent time on loan at several different Championship clubs but has never come close to finding a permanent home.

Despite gaining plenty of experience at the likes of Stoke, Swansea, Sheffield United and Bournemouth, Carter-Vickers has always returned to Tottenham and then been loaned out again by his parent club.

However, with two months left in the season, he’s already played more times for the Hoops than during any loan spell previously, highlighting exactly why the Scottish Premiership leaders want to buy him.

Carter-Vickers has made 36 appearances, all of which have been starts, forming an impressive centre-back partnership with Carl Starfelt, which has put Celtic on course to win the domestic treble, with the Scottish League Cup already in the bank, while they’re in the semi finals of the Scottish Cup and top of the league standings.

Manager Ange Postecoglou recently said after the win over Rangers that he knows Carter-Vickers “loves” playing for the club, and Jones reckons that there’s every chance he signs permanently.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think that Carter-Vickers is very keen, because he feels like he can become part of the project there long-term, and I think it’s one that is realistic to be honest.”
