'Ongoing' - Notts County transfer update as Luke Williams confirms next steps

Notts County's work in the transfer window continues after a stellar week for Luke Williams.

Notts sealed four new signings last week with Cedwyn Scott kicking off a busy seven days with his arrival from Gateshead. Aden Baldwin followed shortly afterward from Milton Keynes Dons while the week was bookended by the signings of Sam Austin and Geraldo Bajrami from Kidderminster Harriers.

That recruitment drive brings Notts' total incomings to six after the captures of Tobi Adebayo-Rowling and Macaulay Langstaff from Ebbsfleet United and Gateshead respectively. Williams is working with Notts' recruitment team to finalise new signings ahead of another assault on the National League's promotion places.

Notts have already made a splash by signing Langstaff, the National League North's top scorer last season, and Baldwin who was playing in League One only last season. "There is an ongoing recruitment process, we are looking at players that have been looked at for a period of time," Williams said.

"Players that myself or Ryan Harley (Williams' assistant manager) have got experience of playing or working with so we are all bringing these different aspects to the table. "There is that relevance that players have different options or become unavailable or players you thought were unavailable become available.

"There is plenty of scope and there is plenty of work going on there." Williams made a point of praising Notts' recruitment team and offered an insight into how they work.

"It's been brilliant because there is so much information about these players," Williams said. It is not like I have walked in the door and it's 'we think maybe this player or that player, have a look at them when you get a minute'.
