‘One of the biggest steals in the Championship’ – Many Coventry City fans react to player’s display in victory over Stoke City

Coventry City made some vital steps back towards the play-off positions last night, with the Sky Blues securing a 1-0 victory at home to Stoke City.

Mark Robins’ side ended a run of four home games without a victory, after an extremely impressive start to the campaign at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Viktor Gyokeres got back to scoring ways yesterday evening, netting what was his first goal since early October, whilst taking his tally to 10 league goals for the season.

The 23-year-old capitalised on some sloppy defending before beating Jack Bonham at his near post with a strike from just outside the area with 68 minutes on the clock.

Sitting just four points outside the much-desired play-off positions at present, Coventry currently have two games in hand on Huddersfield Town who occupy the all-important sixth spot.

Enjoying an excellent 90 minutes from the centre of midfield, Ben Sheaf played an important role yesterday evening.

His ability to keep things ticking whilst always demanding possession of the football helped his side dominate the midfield battle and then stretch the Stoke defence on a number of occasions.

I was a doubter. But now
