One obvious winner and one clear loser at Hull City this season – Agreed?
It’s been an eventful season for Hull City but as we close in on its conclusion they’ve surely achieved their main target for 2021/22 – avoiding relegation.
There should be plenty of positivity heading into the summer as the new owner looks to invest in the squad ahead of next term.
We’ve been reflecting on what we’ve seen over the past eight months and have highlighted one obvious winner and one clear loser – let us know if you agree…
Obvious winner: Keane Lewis-Potter
It’s been quite the season for 21-year-old Keane Lewis-Potter, who deserves the countless links to the Premier League.
Keeping hold of him beyond the summer looks as though it could be a hard task – particularly given how Jarrod Bowen has thrived since leaving the Tigers for the top flight.
The forward took League One by storm last term and the pressure was on for him to prove that he could do it in the Championship as well this term.
He’s certainly done that – scoring 10 times and providing four assists in total in 2021/22 – and it’s fair to say Hull could have been in a bit of trouble without his contributions.
With them, they’re set for another season in the second flight – though whether Lewis-Potter will be present for that remains to be seen.
Clear loser: Liam Walsh
Liam Walsh headed to Hull in January looking to kick-start his career but the loan move from Swansea City just hasn’t worked out.
The midfielder has featured just three times in total and has not been seen since the win over Peterborough United in February.
A few seasons ago on the back of a hugely impressive campaign on loan at Coventry City, Walsh looked like a really exciting talent that would surely take the Championship by storm.
But he’s struggled ever since, in part due to
