After achieving promotion to the Championship last year, it was always going to be interesting to see how Peterborough United would fare at this level during the current campaign.

Although Posh have shown fleeting signs of promise this season, a failure to deliver the goods on a consistent basis has resulted in them residing in the bottom-three for the majority of the term.

Currently bottom of the Championship standings, Posh are in need of a miracle to avoid relegation in the coming weeks as they are nine points adrift of safety.

Whereas a host of the club’s players have struggled to compete in the second-tier, some individuals have illustrated that they are capable of making a difference in this division.

Here, we have decided to take a look at one obvious winner and one clear loser at Peterborough United this season.

Winner: Jonson Clarke-Harris

After spearheading Peterborough’s promotion push by scoring 31 goals in League One last season, Jonson Clarke-Harris has managed to deliver some impressive performances for his side in the current campaign.

During the 36 league games that he has participated in, the forward has managed to find the back of the net on 11 occasions whilst he has also chipped in with two assists.

Currently averaging a club-high WhoScored match rating of 6.82 in the second-tier, it will be intriguing to see whether Clarke-Harris stays at Peterborough this summer if they do indeed suffer relegation to League One.

When you consider that the forward’s deal at the Weston Homes Stadium is set to run until 2024, it may take a sizeable offer to test Posh’s resolve in the upcoming window.
