Faith Kipyegon set a new world record for the women’s 1500m in the Florence Diamond League meeting on Friday night. The Kenyan is the reigning world and Olympic champion, and with 10 metres’ advantage on second place, held by Briton Laura Muir, she extended her lead as she set a time of 3 minutes 49.11 seconds.
