The deal to take Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal is edging closer. The Ukrainian is a player that manager Mikel Arteta has admired from his time under Pep Guardiola and has now managed to secure a switch to north London.
Arsenal have agreed to a £30m plus £2m deal with City, and the player has an agreement in principle to make the switch, according to The Athletic. However, the environments in which Zinchenko is making his switch are significantly different.
Zinchenko arrived at City as a coveted young star of the future. He has spent his time at the Etihad looking up to the likes of Vincent Kompany and other serial winners.
He now moves to Arsenal, and should he start at left-back, he would be the most senior player in the starting core of players. Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Aaron Ramsdale are all younger than the Ukrainian, and it could be him instead who is turned to.
