Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2: Pair share intense staredown - Eddie Hearn was loving it

Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk shared an intense staredown at the opening press conference ahead of their rematch this summer – and Eddie Hearn was clearly loving every second of it.

The Matchroom Boxing chief could barely keep a grin off his face as both men stared intensely at each other for several long seconds.

Joshua was the first to break his gaze, raising his fist above his head in salute, but Usyk kept on staring at him for a few moments before he turned to face the crowd.

WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Usyk puts his titles on the line against the British superstar on August 20 in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah’s Super Dome.

AJ, 32, will be hoping to avoid a repeat of their first encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September, where he lost his belts in convincing fashion in a rather one-sided affair.

However, he has vowed to put things right this time, having replaced former trainer Rob McCracken with well-respected coach Robert Garcia.

“God willing I’ll perform and I’ll become three-time heavyweight champion of the world,” he told the press conference.
