Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stance on Manchester United return is clear amid Sheikh Jassim plan

Manchester United's takeover has been a slow and painful process for supporters.

Fans have watched on as momentum seemingly swayed from INEOS' Sir Jim Ratcliffe to Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani. While the Glazer family have pondered over the pair's bids, information regarding what they will do if successful has been limited.

Both have set out broad ideologies about bringing the club and its supporters together again after a tumultuous few years. However, only Sheikh Jassim has set out a strategy on how he would like to do this.

Last week, The Mirror reported the Qatari billionaire would be open to welcoming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back to the club in an ambassadorial role. There has been talk from Sheikh Jassim's camp previously about welcoming club legends back to Old Trafford.

Names like Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes have been touted and Solskjaer would fit the bill too. And a return to Manchester is not something the 50-year-old would be against either.

Speaking at 'An Evening with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer' event in the city last month, the Norwegian hinted he would be open to a return to United one day.

"I’ve got another job in me, if it’s the right chance and exciting enough," he told fans. "There are so many clubs, but I’m not going to work just for the sake of working. It has to be something special, a new culture, or a club that really excites me. Or maybe they will want me back at the club (United) in some capacity, who knows?"
