Obi-Martin completes Manchester United medical

Chido Obi-Martin has passed his medical as his move to Manchester United draws one step closer to completion.

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano posted the update on X.

Romano’s post corroborates a report relayed by the Peoples Person earlier on Tuesday afternoon that Obi-Martin had arrived in Manchester to undergo tests.

“Chido Obi Martin has completed his medical as new Manchester United player,” Romano wrote.

However, while the successful medical was an important part of his free transfer from Arsenal to United, official confirmation of the move could still take some time.

Rich Fay (MancWorldUK) disclosed that Obi-Martin’s transfer is still subject to Premier League ratification before it is made official.

This was also confirmed by Romano who authenticated this final administrative hurdle for United to complete.

Fay contends Obi-Martin was left impressed by United’s proposed development plan which Romano confirmed will see the 16-year-old offered first-team opportunities as the club’s third striker.

Obi-Martin hit the headlines in April after scoring seven goals in a 9-0 victory for the Gunners’ U-18s side against Norwich.

He scored five against West Ham United, four versus Crystal Palace and four against Fulham.

This took his goals to 28 in 16 games, which saw him broke Folarin Balogun’s record for the most goals for Arsenal U18s in a season, which was 25, set during the 2018/19 campaign.
