Obafemi ruled out as Ebosele makes Irish squad

Michael Obafemi has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland squad to play Ukraine this evening in the Nations League.

The striker was rated as unlikely to feature by manager Stephen Kenny in the pre-match press conference due to a groin injury.

The Irish squad was submitted to UEFA this morning with the Swansea City striker's name not on the list.

Recent call-up Jimmy Dunne was also omitted. He was added to the squad at the weekend due to the absence of Shane Duffy and John Egan in the aftermath of the win over Scotland.

Festy Ebosele is included after missing out on the weekend fixture.
