Novak Djokovic to donate huge Olympics prize money in big hearted gesture

Novak Djokovic reportedly plans to donate his Olympics prize money for humanitarian efforts following victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the Paris gold medal clash.

Securing the Golden Slam, the Serbian veteran defeated the Spanish rising star in two straight sets. Djokovic's career boasts an astonishing 24 Grand Slam titles, and he surged into the Olympic final without losing a set. Despite suffering a defeat by Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final just last month, which made him second favourite for the Olympic title, Djokovic dazzled on the clay of Roland Garros, clinching the match with consecutive 7-6 wins.

Kurir, a Serbian news source, claims that Djokovic has earned £172,000 as part of the cash awarded by Serbia's government to their gold medallists. However, the tennis legend intends to bestow this sum upon "those who need it the most" rather than keeping it for himself. Recently mistaken on Eurosport as Croatian due to a flag mix-up, an error for which he received an apology, Djokovic took to Instagram to commend Alcaraz after their Paris showdown.

"A quick shoutout to @carlitosalcarazz. Another epic final, my friend. El classico," Djokovic said. "Considering your age, your energy, and the way you play, you probably have 20 more Olympics ahead of you. Your gold will come. Until next time, amigo."

Alcaraz, ever the sportsman, responded with appreciation: "Thank you titan! Can't wait to the next one."

Djokovic, who boasts an impressive 10 Australian Open titles, seven Wimbledon victories, four US Open wins, and three French Open triumphs, was visibly moved following his Olympic win as he reflected on the moment. "Everything I felt in that moment when I won surpassed everything I thought or hoped that it would," he said.
