Novak Djokovic and Ashleigh Barty join British tennis star on entry list for Indian Wells

Novak Djokovic, Emma Raducanu and Ashleigh Barty have all been included on the tournament entry list for Indian Wells.

The prestigious tournament, a Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event, is scheduled to run in California from March 7th to 20th.

A host of female stars have been included on the entry list, including world number one Ashleigh Barty.

The 25-year-old is currently in dominant form, storming to victory at the Australian Open last month.

She will be joined by world number two Aryna Sabalenka, defending champion Paula Badosa, Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins, and WTA Finals winner Garbiñe Muguruza.

Ons Jabeur and Karolína Plíšková, both top 10 players, are set to make their return from injury at the tournament.

Emma Raducanu is also included on the entry list. The 19-year-old is still considered a relative newcomer to the WTA Tour, despite winning the US Open in September.

The British teenager became the first qualifier to ever win a Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows – winning 10 games in a row without dropping a set during the tournament.

She exited the Australian Open in the second round, losing to Danka Kovinić of Montenegro after she was hampered by a painful blister for the majority of the match.

Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are among the names on the entry list for the men’s tournament.

There may continue to be issues for Djokovic, who was sent home from the Australian Open due to his unvaccinated status.

The men’s world number one was eventually deported after an 11-day drama, which included two visa cancellations, two court challenges and five nights in two stints at an immigration detention hotel.
