Notts County vs Boreham Wood player ratings as midfielder proves a 'class act'

Notts County continued their promotion charge as a first-half strike from Matt Palmer sealed a 1-0 win over Boreham Wood at Meadow Lane.

The former Rotherham midfielder struck in the 14th minute when he lashed into the top corner following excellent work from Jayden Richardson.

It was the least Notts deserved for an excellent first-half display which saw them create several excellent chances but were unable to take them.

Luke Garrard's side did come back into the game towards the end of the first half with Sam Slocombe saving from Tyrone Marsh and Danilo Orsi.

Notts attempted to kill the game off after the break as Alex Lacey and Ruben Rodrigues went close but there were no late scares for the hosts as they moved up to sixth in the table.

Recalled to the side in the absence of Vitezslav Jaros who is on international duty and did well. Made two smart stops with the one from Danilo Orsi being the pick of them. 7

: Not for the first time in recent weeks he found himself one on one with the goalkeeper but just took a heavy touch. Had an excellent game mind. 8

Had a solid game at centre-back and headed and kicked anything that ventured into his domain. Adds steel to the defence and a willingness to do the dirty side really well. 7

Nice and sharp when it came to making challenges. Reads the game really well and this was another fine performance from the ex-Gillingham defender. 8

Nutmegged two players in the same game and was so bright. Looked like he was really enjoying himself and was crisp in possession. 7

Played on the left-hand side despite being naturally right-footed and almost grabbed himself a goal with a terrific long-range effort. 8

Full of energy and liked up well in attack. Never stops running and picks up
