Nottingham Forest squad value ahead of summer transfer window

Nottingham Forest's squad is currently estimated to be worth less than £50million.

That number is likely to increase massively this summer as owner Evangelos Marinakis vowed to Steve Cooper the "ammunition" to buy the players he needs in the transfer market. A number of players have already been linked, including Chelsea's Armando Broja and Wolves' Morgan Gibbs-White.

According to Transfermarkt, Forest's squad is valued at a combined amount of £47.52m, though many of their valuations will no doubt be called into question by the club and its supporters. The football website says the Reds' most valuable player is Brennan Johnson, worth £13.5m, followed in joint-second by Joe Worrall and Ryan Yates, each valued at £3.6m. Many would argue those three figures combined are less than what Johnson is worth alone.

Centre-back makes up much of Forest value, with Worrall joined in the top five highest valued players by Scott McKenna (£3.15m) and Steve Cook (£2.52m). At the opposite end of the scale, fringe players Jordan Smith and Gaetan Bong are valued at just £270,000 each. They have Xande Silva and Lyle Taylor worth £450,000 each.

Transfermarkt values Forest's squad at just over a 10th of fellow East Midlands side Leicester City, whose squad they say is worth a combined £467.82m.
