Key transfer targets identified as Nottingham Forest squad gear up for pre-season
Here’s the latest Nottingham Forest news on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
Nottingham Forest confirmed their first sale of the summer late on Monday night as Jayden Richardson joined Aberdeen for an undisclosed fee and may have also moved a step closer to one of their first signings in the process.
The 21-year-old leaves the City Ground after spending the second half of last season on loan at Notts County after previously stints away in League Two with Forest Green Rovers and Exeter. But it was his form at Meadow Lane , earning a place in the National League team of the season, that attracted interest from north of the border.
Richardson may have given Forest a parting gift as well, with his arrival at Pittodrie coming just a day after teenage right-back Calvin Ramsay's long-rumoured move in the opposite direction across the border to Liverpool was confirmed. The Dons received an initial £4.2 million from Jurgen Klopp's side, a portion of which will likely have come straight to the East Midlands for the academy graduate.

Samba played a big part in Forest ’s promotion to the Premier League last season. He was the hero in the play-off semi-final, saving three Sheffield United’s penalty kicks in the shootout at the City Ground.
