Nottingham Forest set to make key signing as Steve Cooper discusses transfer plans

A busy summer is set to continue for Nottingham Forest, with boss Steve Cooper expecting more business to get done before the window closes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is set to become the Reds’ 16th addition in a club record deal, with a medical due to take place. The 22-year-old has long been a top target for Cooper and will represent an important signing for Forest.

Nottingham Forest are set to make Morgan Gibbs-White their 16th signing of the summer in a club record deal.

The attacking midfielder has long been a target for the Reds as boss Steve Cooper shaped his squad for the Premier League. And the long-running saga is close to coming to an end.

Forest have agreed a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 22-year-old, with a medical expected to take place later today. NottinghamshireLive understands the move is made up of an initial fee of £25m, plus further add-ons - the first £10m of which are likely to happen, with others proving more difficult to achieve which could take the final outlay up to a little more than £40m.

Should all go as expected, the arrival of Gibbs-White would continue a busy window at the City Ground. It comes as Cooper’s side claimed their first three points of the Premier League season at the weekend, beating West Ham United, with a trip to Everton to come on Saturday.
