Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson is reportedly “in talks” over a move to Besiktas.

The 27 year-old has made 20 appearances for Villa since joining from Marseille in January 2021. Sanson has endured injury problems during his time at B6 and struggled to nail down a place in the side, despite showing several flashes of brilliance in a Villa shirt.

The midfielder declared himself fit on social media prior to the opening game against Bournemouth but is yet to be named in a matchday squad this season. Reports in Turkey have now claimed that Sanson is being targeted by Turkish giants Besiktas and that an “offer has been made”.

The former France youth international has made just 20 appearances for the club since arriving from the south of France one-and-a-half years ago. Despite featuring for Villa throughout their pre-season fixtures, Sanson has again been left out of the 20-man squad for each of their opening two Premier League matches.
