Nottingham Forest receive possible boost as Keinan Davis 'ordered' back to Aston Villa
Nottingham Forest have received a possible boost after receiving more information about Keinan Davis' hamstring injury.
Davis has proved to be a hit with fans on the banks of the River Trent since signing on-loan from Premier League outfit Aston Villa. The talismanic striker has scored five goals and got two assists in 19 appearances for Steve Cooper's side.
The striker, however, picked up a hamstring injury that rules him out the remaining five games of the Championship season - a blow to Cooper's side. The 24-year-old striker was forced off in the Good Friday defeat at Luton Town and has now been ordered back to Aston Villa for pre-season by boss Steven Gerrard.

Cooper's side could receive a late boost, however, with The Mirror claiming that Davis could be involved in the play-offs if Forest can secure an extension to their league season.
They claim that Davis' injury from April 15 has been assessed and given a four-five week recovery time-frame. It means the striker, who is doing his rehab at Forest, could return if they end up in the play-offs with the Championship play-off final scheduled for May 29 and keeps alive the prospect of Davis still playing a role in Forest’s promotion push.
Forest are interested in signing the powerful frontman permanently if they are promoted to the Premier League. But Villa boss Steven Gerrard, appointed in November, has told Davis to return in pre-season to be assessed if he fits into the club’s plans.
