Nottingham Forest fans have 'special' feeling after magical FA Cup run
It is all to play for for Nottingham Forest once they resume Championship action after the international break.
And the Reds’ stirring display against Liverpool in the FA Cup seems to have galvanised players and fans for one big push in the final weeks of the season. Steve Cooper’s side did themselves proud as they pushed their Premier League opponents close in Sunday’s 1-0 quarter-final defeat.
After the two-week hiatus, Forest will head to Blackpool for the first of their final 10 league games. They are currently in ninth spot, three points below the top-six, with games in hand on their rivals.
A magical cup run has got supporters dreaming of playing top-flight big guns more often. Here’s what they have been saying on social media.
Crackers to think how disappointed I am with the result against one of the best teams in the world. We’ve come a long, long way since September. The FA Cup might be over but there’s 8 more cup finals to come after the international break. City and club united - let’s go.
There's something special happening at this football club.
What a night last night @NFFC not the result we wanted but what a performance #nffc we could be playing these again if the next 13 games go to plan.
Firmly believe THIS is OUR season. We embrace the past and make new memories - Cooper's mantra. This team should fear no one and I still hold the belief we can achieve that 2nd spot. It's ours for the taking - the other contenders will be acutely aware of our intent.
Last night... Went from hoping #NFFC wouldn't get battered by #LFC to being disappointed we didn't win. A performance to be proud of, and no disgrace at all. Definitely brought back memories. Good luck to @LFC for the rest of the competition.
