North West Kent League success alongside National Plate Cup run makes it an unforgettable year for Maidstone District under-12s

Maidstone District’s under-12s have been celebrating an exceptional season.

The team were crowned North West Kent League winners after an impressive run of displays, including victories against strong London-based district sides and Brighton.

Their attacking style saw them finish as the league’s top scorers, with Reid Omojomolo, Henry Zevla and Buddy Small reaching double figures. The team also recorded the best divisional defensive record.

That was led by keeper Will Herbert, supported by defenders Mason Angel, Beau Wilkins, Owen Moore and Sammy Hubbard. Additional support came from Charlie Quinton and Eddie Holland, who stepped in on a number of occasions and played key roles.

The team were also crowned joint-winners of the AB Trophy following a hard-fought draw against Medway, played at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium.

Their success extended beyond the local league, too, reaching the final of the National Plate Cup. They secured wins against Waltham Forest, Cornwall, Mid Sussex and Canterbury - and even enjoyed a trip to Newquay.

That final was held at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium where they lost 1-0 against Liverpool.

The team’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with professional academy scouts attending matches and showing interest in several players.

Playing an exciting, fast-paced and attacking style, the midfield - Charlie Cork, Brayden Parrett, George Farren and Murphy Browne - had key roles in setting the tempo throughout the season.

The boys have built excellent relationships, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, respect and camaraderie throughout the year. The squad represent a range of local schools, including Maidstone Grammar School, School of Science and Technology, Cornwallis Academy, Maplesden
