Non-league friendly abandoned as HEARSE drives onto the pitch before masked men flee in car

Chaotic scenes during saw a non-league friendly clash abandoned after masked men drove two vehicles onto the pitch.

National League side Gateshead travelled to neighbours Dunston UTS on Friday evening for the pre-season warm-up only for the action to be suspended following the astonishing incident that has been shown shared by punters in the stands across social media. Two cars - one of them a funeral hearse drove onto the field and skidded around the surface shortly after half-time.

The hearse eventually parked up in the centre circle, with the masked man behind the wheel exiting the vehicle and getting into the second car before fleeing the scene. The car had to smash through the safety barrier to drive out of the stadium as punters were left in disbelief at the scenes they had just witness. Gateshead took to social media stating: "Due to an incident on the pitch occurring shortly after half time, tonight's match has been abandoned by the referee."
