‘No guarantee’ - Manchester United sounded warning over Antony transfer

Manchester United have been told that there is “no guarantee” that Antony or Cody Gakpo will be a success in the Premier League.

The Reds are pushing ahead with a move for Ajax winger Antony with Erik ten Hag looking to reinforce his attacking options as a priority. Gakpo has also been linked with an Old Trafford switch but it is understood the club’s interest in the forward has cooled somewhat.

If a deal is completed, he would be the second recruit to arrive from Ajax - after Lisandro Martinez - and the third from the Netherlands, after Tyrell Malacia secured a move from Feyenoord.
