"No doubt about it" - Journalist drops big Saint-Maximin claim amid continued Newcastle absence

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin is “one of the keys” to the Magpies surviving this season, claims journalist Dean Jones.

Newcastle have been in a relegation battle for the whole campaign, but the 24-year-old’s efforts have helped to keep them alive.

Saint-Maximin has done well this term and has been one of the few shining lights in what has been a largely disappointing season for Newcastle.

It was not until December that the Tyneside club were able to win their first Premier League match, a 1-0 win against Burnley, with the team largely underperforming before then.

Saint-Maximin, though, was definitely one of their better players during that awful run, grabbing a few goals and assists against the likes of Southampton, Manchester United and Leeds United.

Since that win over Burnley, however, things have really picked up for Eddie Howe’s side, who are now out of the relegation zone and into 14th after claiming 13 points from their last five fixtures.

There is still a lot of work to do, though, and Jones believes Saint-Maximin will be key if Newcastle are to get past the finishing line.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the Frenchman, the insider said: “He’s one of the keys to survival; there’s no doubt about it.”

As Jones has mentioned, Saint-Maximin will be key, with the £28.8m-rated attacker being such a dangerous player.

There is probably not another winger in the Premier League who can beat a defender in the manner that he does.
