“No agreement...": Fabrizio Romano drops huge West Ham update, Moyes will be fuming - opinion

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has turned down a third contract offer from the Hammers.

That’s according to transfers expert Fabrizio Romano, who tweeted: “Declan Rice has turned down third contract offer at West Ham. There’s still no agreement – Rice has always been committed, but he’s now open to a move this summer. West Ham insist he’s untouchable as David Moyes said – but Declan Rice won’t sign a new deal.”

The 23-year-old is a major asset for David Moyes’ side but now, according to The Mirror, is a target for both Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of a potential summer departure.

Rice has been subject to heavy speculation for the best part of a year now and the latest update on the Englishman’s future is sure to have left David Moyes fuming.

The 29-cap England star has seriously impressed over the last two seasons with the midfielder being a kingpin for the Irons’ push towards a top-six finish in the Premier League last term, as well as this campaign’s road to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

In that time, the 23-year-old has made 78 appearances for West Ham in all competitions which has seen him promoted to being an England regular, having played in every match of the Three Lions’ run to the final of last summer’s European Championship.

Having now established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting deep-lying midfielders, Moyes stated earlier this month that it will take more than £150m to lure Rice away from east London.

According to SofaScore, the defensive midfielder is the Hammers’ top performer this season with an average match rating of 7.2 in the league.
