Nicola Bulley: Body found in River Wyre confirmed to be missing mum

Police have confirmed that a body found in the River Wyre in Lancashire is that of missing mum Nicola Bulley. In a press conference on Monday afternoon, Lancashire Police said formal identification of the body had now taken place.

Ms Bulley, 45, went missing while walking her dog in the village of St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire on January 27, having dropped both her daughters at school. Throughout the investigation, police said that their 'main working hypothesis' was that Ms Bulley had fallen into the River Wyre.

Officers were called to reports of a body in the water shortly after 11.30am on Sunday, February 19, and it was confirmed that a body had been pulled from the River Wyre near to where Ms Bulley went missing.

In a statement read out on behalf of the family on Monday, the family spoke of intrusion by some members of the press.
