Nicky Devlin sold on Aberdeen transfer by Barry Robson as Livingston skipper breaks silence after signing leak

Nicky Devlin has revealed how Barry Robson sold him on a switch to Aberdeen as the Livingston captain is set to be announced by the Dons on a two-year Pittodrie deal.

Record Sport exclusively revealed how the 29-year-old right back was a target for Aberdeen and pictures were then leaked on social media late last week showing Devlin putting pen to paper ahead of the official confirmation of his switch. And now the player himself has spoken about the move as he prepress to depart west Lothian after four years and 146 appearances for the Lions. Devlin said: “Aberdeen are a massive club on the up and the style of play the new manager has adopted really suits me. Speaking to the manager, it felt like they were pushing the boat out more than any other.”

The defender moved to Livingston from Walsall after a stint at Ayr United and admitted he has loved his time there. He’s said: “Being at Livingston has been phenomenal for me and my family. I can't speak highly enough of the the people who work here. I'm at a club where I feel loved and it was extremely difficult to make the decision to move on."
