Nicky Devlin blasted as Aberdeen star accused of GOADING PAOK bench at Pittodrie by 'blowing kisses' during celebration

Razvan Lucescu claimed Nicky Devlin controversially lit the fuse in the last game by blowing kisses at the PAOK bench when Aberdeen went 2-0 up.

The Greek side came back to win 3-2 at Pittodrie and the antics of the Dons defender clearly irked them. Lucescu is just glad he didn’t see Devlin do it in real time and that is likely to add a bit of extra edge to this evenings Europa Conference League clash at the Toumba Stadium. The PAOK head coach said: “In the game against Aberdeen they scored their second goal and then their No. 2 Devlin came in front of me and did this (blows kiss). And then we won 3-2. To be honest, I didn’t see it in the game but the people around me told me the story. I am happy I didn’t see it at that moment because I don’t know how I would have reacted.”

PAOK have maximum points so far and Lucescu wants them to finish off the job in style by sealing qualification for the knockout stages against Aberdeen. He stated: “We have a game that might give us qualification for the next round so we have to be very focused.”

The Greek side have already seen off Hearts this season but Lucescu expects another fight. Lucescu said: “I don’t like to make comparisons because there are two different moments with teams (Hearts and Aberdeen) and their qualities. We don’t care what has gone before. Now in front of us is an Aberdeen team with a strong mentality.

“They are not an offensive team, they are very organised in defence. They try to take advantage of their transitions of what they are very good at. They are a team that must be treated with the maximum of respect. I don’t know how Aberdeen treat the game but normally Scottish teams have the mentality to fight and fight.”
