Nick Walsh appointed Celtic Flag Day referee as Willie Collum lands Rangers Rugby Park opener

Nick Walsh has been selected as Celtic vs Ross County referee after the list of officials for the opening day of the Premiership season were released.

The whistler will take charge of the first match of the professional league campaigns in Scotland when the Premiership champions fly their 22/23 title-winning flag in front of a packed home crowd. He will be assisted by David Roome and Chris Rae with Colin Steven as fourth official. Greg Aitken will act as VAR referee, helped by assistant Alan Mulvanny for Walsh to consult with if neccessary.

Rangers meanwhile will begin their season at Rugby Park, and Willie Collum has the task of dealing with that fixture. He will have Dougie Potter and Craig Ferguson to call upon as linesman while Scott Lambie acts as fourth official and Andrew Dallas works VAR alongside Gary Hilland. John Beaton's first job of the league season takes him to Livingston vs Aberdeen.

David Dickinson takes Dundee's return to the top flight at home to Motherwell, and Steven McLean is the man in the middle for St Johnstone against Hearts. Euan Anderson is the referee for the only Sunday match, Hibs vs St Mirren.
