Nick Kyrgios makes Thanasi Kokkinakis joke amid Aus Open win - 'I crossed the line'
Nick Kyrgios admitted it was a "dream come true" to win the Australian Open alongside long-time friend Thanasi Kokkinakis, before playing wingman and telling the "ladies" his fellow title winner would be going out to celebrate. The wildcard pair defeated fellow Aussies Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell 7-5 6-3 in Saturday's final to lift the doubles trophy.
The 'Special Ks' tore through the doubles draw in Melbourne after being granted a wildcard.
They shocked the world No 1 pairing of Nikola Mektic before beating the 15th, sixth and third seeds en route to an all-Aussie final against the unseeded Ebden and Purcell.
And their momentum carried into the championship match, with the long-time friends sealing a 7-5 6-3 victory to win their first-ever Grand Slam title.
After the match, Kyrgios joked that he had "crossed the line" in his victory speech after dropping a final one-liner to end the trophy ceremony.

The pair had won the 2013 Wimbledon boys' juniors doubles title, with Kyrgios going on to win six singles titles on the ATP Tour.
Kokkinakis, plagued by injuries throughout his career, finally won his maiden singles title earlier this month at the ATP 250 in Adelaide - his hometown.
And his successful month continued with the Australian Open doubles title, as he paid tribute to his partner in crime and admitted they never thought they'd life the trophy.
"Nick, I love you brother," he said. "Man, I can honestly say we didn't expect to even come close to this."
