Emergency services have rushed to a viaduct in Southern France after reports emerged of a Nice player being spotted on top of the bridge.
The player, who is not being named, is understood to represent the Ligue 1 club, who cancelled planned media activities this afternoon. The police, as well as the fire brigade, have been called to the location according to BFM Nice and France Bleu Azur. The club have reportedly sent a psychologist to the location after the player drove to the bridge, stopped his car then got out and stood next to edge.
Traffic heading towards Aix-en-Provence has been slowed. A traffic jam, said to have been 5km length, formed on Friday morning. Nice are set to take on Brest this weekend in a top of the table clash. Brest ate the table toppers with 13 points from their opening six games, with Nice one point behind them on 12.
