Winger, Chidiebere Nnachi, had his first taste of action in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) playing for defending champions, Enyimba, in their 3-2 win over Akwa United on Sunday. He would go on to express his delight at making a debut for the famous People’s Elephant.

It was a dream realised for the 18-year-old Nnachi, whose dazzling runs on the flanks was adjudged to have helped Enyimba secure their first win of the season

“It is one of my biggest achievements in life, as I finally made it to play for Enyimba. Nnachi, one of the Aba grown talents that made it to the city’s biggest club, has French World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe, as his idol and maintained that joining Enyimba from the streets of Aba, will go on to motivate other younger players in the city to believe in themselves that they can enjoy a bright future.

“Aba is a blessed city filled with lots of great talents and we really do have very good footballers in the city.”

If you go to all the football pitches in Aba, you will discover that these footballers are very good, but they don’t have sponsors that can help take their careers further.

“It’s always good to have some of the home grown players in the team and I believe that I am in Enyimba to contribute to the growth of the team.”
Nnachi previously featured for some grassroots teams in Aba, including Fusion FC, Ega, Megamu and Unich, amongst others, before joining
