Neymar’s skill before scoring stunning PSG goal vs Lorient was different class

Neymar turned on the style as Paris Saint-Germain recorded an emphatic 5-1 win over Lorient at the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening.

The Brazilian has been jeered by his own supporters in recent weeks following last month’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

But Neymar had the same fans on the edge of their seats with a wonderful performance against Lorient alongside Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, who were also on the scoresheet.

The result means PSG remain 12 points clear of second-placed Marseille at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

With eight games of the season remaining, only a capitulation of epic proportions will prevent Mauricio Pochettino’s side from being crowned champions of France this season.

PSG’s five goals were all special in their own right, although Neymar’s second was arguably the pick of the bunch.

The 30-year-old received the ball inside the PSG half, turned and then produced an exquisite nutmeg through the legs of substitute Fabien Lemoine, who’d only just entered the fray.

Neymar continued his run towards Lorient’s penalty area, exchanging passes with Mbappe before finishing past goalkeeper Matthieu Dreyer.
