Neymar: PSG star went into savage mode vs Belgian second-tier side in 2020

Neymar is undoubtedly one of the greatest players of his generation.

You may love him or despise him, but regardless of what side you’re on, there’s no getting away from the fact that the Paris Saint-Germain superstar is a footballing genius.

Throughout the course of his incredible career thus far, Neymar has combined world-class output with the most entertaining playing style possible.

At club level with Santos, Barcelona and PSG, the 30-year-old (yes, we feel old too) has scored 265 goals and assisted a further 166 in 450 games, which is an outrageous return.

His numbers are just as good on the international stage as well, the fleet-footed attacker finding the back of the net 70 times and setting up his colleagues on 52 occasions in 116 appearances.

But the stats only tell half the story when it comes to Neymar, because most of the magic he produces out on the pitch cannot be reduced to mere figures on a webpage.

The former Barcelona hero is one of the most skilful players in history, regularly embarrassing opponents with tricks, flicks and other garish moves.

That was certainly the case when PSG took on Belgian second-tier side Waasland-Beveren in a friendly back in 2020 after the Ligue 1 season had been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The French team ran out 7-0 winners at the Parc Des Princes and during the match, Neymar performed some quite outrageous skills by the touchline.
