Next Rangers manager hunt LIVE as Danny Rohl emerges as frontrunner after Steven Gerrard snub
The race to land the next Rangers manager is heating up - however, the bomshell news is that Steven Gerrard is no longer in the running.
The former Ibrox boss held talks with powerbrokers Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe but has removed himself from the picture because he doesn't feel the timing is right.
Record Sport has learned that the club have also spoken to German coach Danny Rohl as well as recently-sacked West Ham boss Graham Potter and Gary O'Neill.
Powerbrokers are said to have been impressed with ex Sheffield Wednesday manager Rohl during their discussions and the 36-year-olf is now currently the frontrunner to land the job.
Rangers return from the international break against Dundee United next weekend before a packed run featuring Europa League action and a Premier Sports Cup semi-final with Celtic.

Danny Rohl revealed just how impressed Hansi Flick was with the impact he had made at Sheffield Wednesday last year, when he said:
